Chief Justice at CTB
Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona receives a token of appreciation from Chamber of Thrift Banks (CTB) and HSBC Savings Bank President Patrick Cheng during CTB’s general membership meeting held at Mandarin Oriental Hotel, where he discussed the Court’s reform initiatives for better administration of justice, specifically in the banking sector. The Chief Justice discussed the various issues and concerns facing the industry, such as the need to expedite the resolution and reduce the backlog of cases involving banks, that trial court judges should follow a consistent procedure in handling writs of possession of foreclosed properties already consolidated in the name of the banks, and developing and strengthening mediation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR), among others.
